The Proposed Expansion of the Shawangunk Valley Firehouse
The Shawangunk Valley Fire District is expanding the existing firehouse at 2150 Bruynswick Rd in Wallkill, NY to improve volunteer health and safety and support volunteer recruitment and retention. The improvements include a new Ambulance Bay, Ventilation System, EMS Storage and Fitness Room— and the facility will remain operational throughout construction.

Improving volunteer safety and response times
The Shawangunk Valley Fire District supports the Shawangunk Valley Volunteer Fire Company, which serves the towns of Shawangunk and Gardiner in Ulster County, New York. The District is governed by a Board of Commissioners who oversee budgets and capital improvements.
The District was awarded a grant from the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services through the V-FIRE grant program, which provides reimbursement funding for the renovation and expansion of the existing firehouse.
